Easy, Breezy Summer Look!

Easy, Breezy Summer Look!

posted on: 5.06.2011

Two blog posts in one day? Shenanigans!

So I don't know about the rest of you guys, but down here in Florida, it is 90 degrees consistently... Has been that way since early April. I used to complain about it ALL the time, but when I went to New York for IMATS in early April, I stopped complaining. I was fricken' COLD up there! So now I have gained a greater appreciation for the warm Florida weather (although I have yet to gain an appreciation for the humidity that goes along with the Florida weather).

All that being said, I wanted to do a quick and easy summer look, featuring one of spring's hottest trends: orange lips! Well, coral lips to be exact. I know that coral lips are a spring trend and not a summer trend, but I'm pretty sure I could see coral lips being carried over into the summertime regardless... I mean, how could it not? Coral lips are so much fun! I know I'll be sporting them a whole lot over the next few months... This lipstick just might replace my summer staple lipstick, MAC Chatterbox!

The Revlon Colorburst lipsticks are absolutely fantastic. And retailing for only about 8 dollars, they are totally worth it! This is the only one I have, but I am absolutely in love. I actually recently went to Ulta and picked up one of the Revlon Colorburst lipglosses, and that lipgloss is definitely one of my new favorites as well. Excellent job, Revlon! I'm normally really hesitant to get drugstore lipsticks/lip glosses because I never like the texture or the longevity of them, but Revlon has proven me wrong!

So to end my short novel here (ha ha), I decided to create this tutorial using mainly drugstore products. This easy, breezy summer look is even easy & breezy on your wallet! Ha! (corny joke alert!) Anywho, I absolutely love the way this look came out. And even if you aren't fond of coral lips, just substitute the lips for something else! Personally, I would totally whip out my brightest magenta lipstick, MAC Violetta in substitution for the coral lips... But thats just me ;)

I know I've been completely failing at blogging lately, I'll try to be better! I'm almost done with finals (tonight is my last one), so after this I'll try to be a little bit more faithful to blogging! Anywho, here are the products I used in the tutorial:
