Review: BareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 2.0

Review: BareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 2.0

posted on: 1.10.2012

I know you guys, I can't believe I'm actually typing up a review either. Bare Minerals came out with a new line of pressed eyeshadows a couple of months ago, and I have been dying to try them out. Last month, I finally caved and bought one for myself, and let me just tell you this: these eyeshadows definitely live up to the hype. These are so soft and creamy and well pigmented, and you don't even need a primer to make these shadows stick around.

The palette I purchased was in "The Epiphany". Before I go any further, can we just take a moment to discuss how much fun that name is? I feel so inspired to put these eyeshadows on my eyelids. The Epiphany. God, that name makes me want to put these eyeshadows on right this very second. All joking aside, besides the palette name, each eyeshadow has its own individual name. The shadow on the left is named "A-Ha" and the one on the right is "Foreshadow". Food for thought: Who comes up with these names? I want their job!

I tried my hardest to make these photos of the eyeshadows as true to life as possible. Nobody tells you how difficult that is! As you can see, "A-Ha" is a beautiful bronzey-taupe color, which is a beautiful color on its on. And so creamy, it's ridiculous. I guess that's where the name comes from. When you apply it, you go "A-Ha!" in disbelief at how gorgeous this color is. I'm being overdramatic. This shade is definitely frosty, and I would say it is a bit similar to MAC Woodwinked shadow, but a lot less orange.

"Foreshadow", on the other hand, is an almost-matte creamy reddish brown. When you see it in person, it looks completely matte, but the photographs show otherwise. However, the sparkle in the shadow definitely does not translate once swatched and applied.

These eyeshadows apply evenly and nicely. A bit pricey (this duo was $20) for .1 oz of product. They are easily blendable and just all-around really nice. You can read Temptalia's review of this duo here. I completely recommend these eyeshadows for any that are interested.

Have you tried any of the Bare Minerals pressed eyeshadows?
