I guess it is also important for me to address the kind of skin I have. I have combination skin. In the summer, I'm more oily than combination. In the winter, I get really oily in my t-zone, but really dry in my cheeks and I get the occasional eczema outbreak on my chin (sexy!). Yep, I do get eczema too. Mainly on my neck, but then my skin got super sensitive to benzoyl peroxide (which I would apply all over my face) and I got eczema patches like, everywhere. Totally not sexy, you guys. Anyways, I have dealt with acne on my face since high school, and within the past year, a horrible bout with bacne has occurred as well. The following products I use daily, both night and morning, and I'm starting to take control of my skin issues.
- Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel- Great for all skin types and leaves my skin super clean and doesn't give me that icky "tight" feeling that I loathe so much. I use this with my Clarisonic every night.
- Dermalogica Clean Start Wash Off- This is a facial and body wash with like 2% (maybe less? I'm too lazy to check) salicylic acid. I use this on my back every morning with my Clarisonic.
- Dermalogica Active Moist- This is my morning moisturizer. It's really light but it really sinks into my skin. I'm running out, so when I run out of it, I'll probably just stick to using my Cetaphil moisturizer (because I'm cheap and don't want to spend like, $60 on a moisturizer).
- Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask- This product is a godsend! Honestly! I apply this to my face every three days and leave it on for about half an hour. This is the most refreshing mask I've ever come across! Then every night I use this to spot treat my pimples. The sulfur in this product helps eliminate pimples quickly and effectively. I love it! Plus, it's super duper cheap and I think is natural? Don't quote me on that, though.
- Clarisonic Mia- I love my Clarisonic so much! I don't have the fancy new one, though. This lil' baby gets all my makeup off and exfoliates my skin, keeping it nice and smooth. I use it on my back too!
- Sea Breeze Deep Clean Astringent- This product has either .5 or 1% salicylic acid (again, I'm too lazy to check) in it. I apply this twice a day, on both my face and on my back. This is really effective in eliminating blackheads, another issue I struggle with. And it's cheap! I love cheap things that work.
- Cetaphil Daily Moisturizer- This is probably the most basic yet most effective moisturizer out on the market. It is nice and moisturizing but doesn't make me feel greasy. It is great on all skin types! I swear by this moisturizer, and the best part: it's relatively inexpensive.
Have you tried any of these products? What are some products you swear by? I'd love to hear in the comments!
I swear by the mint julep mask too! I use the mario badescu drying lotion afterwards for spot treatment...2 days and those unsightly things are outta there.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try Mario Badescu products but I've never known what to try first. Now I know!
DeleteYeah, face masks are a must, my ritual at every single bath.
