You are going to need a green nail polish (I used Wasabi by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics), a pale aqua color (I used Essie's Absolutely Shore), a light lilac/lavender polish (I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Lacey Lilac), and a midtone pinky-coral polish (I used butter london's Trout Pout). You'll also need a toothpick, base coat, and high-shine top coat.
- Apply the base coat to all of your nails. I used Seche Vite's base coat.
- Apply the lilac nail polish to your ring finger. This is going to be the accent nail.
- Apply the green nail polish to the rest of your fingers.
- Then apply a second coat of the green and lilac nail polishes.
- Using the pink color, you are going to make a diagonal stripe across the lilac color on your nails. You can either use tape to get a precise, defined line, or you can freehand it like I did.
- Pour out a little bit of the aqua nail polish on a piece of paper.
- Use the toothpick to pick some polish up. If you're fancier than I am (which you probably are), use a dotting tool for this.
- Make little dots underneath the pink stripe.
- Then taking your green polish again, make another stripe on top of the pink color just to really tie in the whole nail look together. Again, you can use tape for this if you'd like, or you can just freehand it.
- Apply a top coat. I used the Seche Vite quick drying top coat. And that's it!
This is a really simple nail tutorial. And this is what the final result will look like:
Voila! I didn't bother cleaning up the edges (told you I'm lazy), but I hope you enjoyed this tutorial nonetheless!
OMG! This is so cool, I love what you did here.
