Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Polish + Hand Cream Review

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Polish + Hand Cream Review

posted on: 7.24.2012

As apart of my Influenster VoxBox I received at the beginning of this month, I received this Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Polish. The whole magnetic nail polish trend has been on the beauty scene for some months now, but I never really got into it because it seemed a bit too complicated for my liking. This bottle of nail polish retails for $9.99, and comes with the built-in magnet that you're supposed to hold over the wet nail polish to reveal a unique design on the nail.

Initially, I thought this was going to be completely lame and was pretty unimpressed. However, the other day when I decided to swatch it and take photos, I was proven wrong! This is super cool, and I kind of understand the hype. I don't even know how to describe the effect on the nail- and photographs couldn't really capture the effect either. So the only thing I can say is that you're going to have to try it out for yourself if you're interested. I do wish there was a larger range of colors to play with, such as neon colors. I think that would be pretty fun.
Also found in my VoxBox from earlier this month is Sally Hansen's Nails and Cuticles Hand Creme. Here is the official description of this product:
"Made with shea butter, the Sally Hansen Nails & Cuticles Creme softens hands, smooths cuticles and conditions nails. Active Moisture Complex formula with Ceramides helps to lock in nutrients so hands maintain their ideal moisture level. Offers 24 hour moisture and lasts through hand washings!"
Okay so I don't really understand the technical part of the description (too many fancy words- ceramides?? what??) but I do understand that your hands are supposed to feel super moisturized for 24 hours. Yea so my hands felt moisturized for about an hour or two before going back to feeling like their usual, dry selves. I even applied a lot of it, and it did not last through hand washings or for a full 24 hours. Whomp, whomp. Well, the full sized bottle of this retails for $5.99, so I guess you can't expect too much from that.
As to whether or not I feel that this product smoothed my cuticles and conditioned my nails- meh. Just meh. This definitely isn't a miracle product and it isn't something I would purchase again. It isn't expensive at all so if you want to try it out for yourself, then go for it! But I would pass in all honesty.

Disclosure: I received these two products complimentary of Influenster for testing purposes. This has not influenced my review of these products. These reviews are completely honest and unbiased.
