On Sunday I spent most of my time shopping. The fact that Makeup Forever had a huge booth right across from the Cult Nails booth (where I was helping out at... I'll get to that in a minute) did not help my wallet out at all. I've never had a chance to play around with their pro-only products before, and now was my chance. Of course, I didn't actually buy any of their pro-only products, but I think it was good for me to see how they work for future reference.
Unfortunately, a few vendors, such as Kevyn Aucoin and Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, were unable to make it to Orlando because of Hurricane Sandy. Not only that, but a lot of vendors were missing products and signs that were detained in other states because of Sandy. Because of this, some booths had to get creative. My favorite was definitely The Powder Group's booth, where they definitely got creative with their sign.
Like I very briefly mentioned before, I was given the opportunity to help out at the Cult Nails booth. If you've stuck around this blog for a while, you will know that I recently discovered the brand and am completely enamored with their polishes. After this weekend, I am fortunate enough to call the owner, Maria, a new and dear friend of mine. I had such a great time working with her, her husband, and several other bloggers from the Central Florida area. I had to take a picture of them working at the booth!

If any of you are familiar with the SyFy network's original series, Face Off, then you should definitely know who Roy Wooley is. He was a contestant on the third season (which just recently wrapped up on TV), and was known for his super ambitious makeup jobs and fabrication. He was at the show, and I was able to meet him! He was super sweet, and it was so great meeting him there. And completely unexpected! He also had a demonstration earlier in the day on Sunday that I sadly missed.
Day 1 of The Makeup Show was a complete success. I spent way more than I had originally planned on, met some of the greatest people in the industry, and quickly became friends with some of my fellow bloggers whom I had never met before. Overall, it was a pretty amazing day. Now I'll include some other snippets from Sunday below, and be sure to come back tomorrow for my final recap of the show!
