I am always incredibly underwhelmed at major awards show red carpets, mainly because I feel that most actresses go for the "shock" factor rather than the "elegant" factor. If you follow me on Twitter, you will know that the Oscars were last night, and that I wasn't very impressed by the show overall. Basically, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler would have done a better job, but I don't think Seth was the worst Oscars host ever, like some people are saying he was. Anyway, the show was completely predictable, but I'm glad Argo won for best picture.
To me, the best dressed ladies at the event were Naomi Watts and Jessica Chastain, both up for the Best Actress award (Naomi for "The Impossible" and Jessica for "Zero Dark Thirty"). While I admired Jennifer Lawrence's performance in Silver Linings Playbook, I think Jessica should have gotten the Oscar for her amazing work on Zero Dark Thirty. But I digress! Naomi was in Armani Privé, and was a dream in metallic sequins. It was such a classy dress for this event, and her windblown hair and her subtle-yet-dramatic makeup was completely flawless. This was hands down my favorite dress of the night. Jessica was also in Armani Privé, and looked absolutely stunning. Normally I loathe her gown choices for major events, but her and her stylist picked the perfect dress for the Oscars. Also, her hair and makeup were so perfectly old-Hollywood, and she couldn't have looked any better.
What did you guys think of the fashion at the Oscars last night? Who were your favorites? I wanna hear what you think!
