When I'm not in the mood to wear a lot of eye makeup, I typically opt for a bright lip. Sometimes, though, instead of opting for the typical one-dimensional bright lip, I'll contour my lips for some extra definition and "wow" factor. It's a really easy way to take your lips from "meh" to fabulous, and all you need are two lipsticks, a lip liner, and a lip gloss. Of course, if you're cramped for time, you can easily achieve this look with just two lipsticks.
The first step is to apply your base shade. For this tutorial, I used MAC Chatterbox, a mid-tone pink. Next, take a deeper color, and use a lip brush to carefully contour your lips. I used Milani's Lipstick in Uptown Mauve. To contour your lips, just apply the color to the outer perimeters of your lips, staying away from the center of your lips. Do this to both the top and bottom lip.
You could leave it at that, but I wanted to take it a few steps further. Next, I took a plum colored lip liner (MUFE Aqua Lip 10C) to really define my lips. Make sure you use the lip brush you used before to blend out the lip liner because chola lip liner is still not a trend in 2013. And finally, for that extra va-va-voom factor, apply a little bit of lip gloss onto the center of your bottom lip.
And that's all there is to it! It's simple, and is also a great technique to know if you wear glasses. Have any of you tried contouring your lips?
