Summer Essential: Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouges in #16 and #18

Summer Essential: Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouges in #16 and #18

posted on: 7.03.2013

It's no secret that one of my favorite makeup brands is Make Up For Ever. When it comes to waterproof makeup, I always default to their products, as their products are even used by synchronized swimmers. Last year, Make Up For Ever debuted a new line of lip colors called the Aqua Rouge, which are a super long-lasting lip color/gloss hybrid that truly stays put. I've reviewed the Aqua Rouge in shade #8- you can check that out here.

I remarked in my last review how I wished that Make Up For Ever would add more colors to the Aqua Rouge line. Clearly they were listening! I finally have a pretty coral and hot pink lip color that I can depend on lasting all day in the hot and humid Florida weather. Shade #18 is the pinky-coral shade, and #18 is the fuschia shade. #18 applies kind of streakily, and doesn't last nearly as long as the brighter shades. I get a solid 4-6 hour wear with that one. The brighter colors seem to last longer on my lips. #16 lasts over 8 hours before I need to touch it up again.

At $24 a piece, they are a splurge, but definitely worth it for the summer. I've been wearing the fuschia one so much, and I always get compliments on it. For the summer, Make Up For Ever also released a bright orange, a baby pink, and a pomegranate pink shade. Check out the swatches below and tell me what you think!
