smoky eye, how to do a smoky eye, NARS Eye Paint in Tatar, MAC Eye shadow in Satin Taupe, makeup tutorial smoky eye, smokey eye
Remember my OCC Stained Gloss Lip Tar review from a couple of months ago? Well, I received some requests to do a tutorial for the eye makeup look I was sporting in that review and you guys... it is so easy. This is perfect for if you're on the go and want to transition into more of a nighttime look. Read on for the full tutorial!
  1. First I applied a dark purple cream shadow as my base. I'm using the NARS Eye Paint in Tatar (drugstore alternative here). Blend with a fluffy brush.
  2. Smudge the cream shadow base on the lower lashline using a pencil brush.
  3. Apply a shimmery, purple-taupe eyeshadow over the base. I used MAC's Satin Taupe eyeshadow (drugstore alternative here). Blend into the crease with a stiff dome brush.
  4. Next use a midtone brown eyeshadow to lightly define your crease and help blend out the taupe eyeshadow from before. I'm using MAC Wedge.
  5. Use a shimmery eyeshadow to highlight your browbone and inner corners. I'm using MAC Nylon.
  6. Apply mascara! I'm using Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.
And that's it! You have a super simple makeup look. It doesn't take long, which is perfect for when you're in a rush. On the cheeks I contoured lightly with my Bobbi Brown bronzer in Natural, and added a bit of NARS Orgasm blush on my cheeks. On the lips is the OCC Stained Gloss Lip Tar in New Wave.

What are some of your go-to last-minute makeup tricks? I wanna hear them!
