Taya Beauty, Taya Buriti Nut Intensive Repair Collection Review, Natural sustainable hair products, hair products for damaged hair, hair products for color treated hair
If you've stuck around Brikasia for a little bit of time, you will know that I have a lot of curly hair. The problem with my curly hair (and curly hair in general) is that it is dry, which can result in frizzy hair and a dry, flaky scalp. I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week so I don't dry out my hair, and I haven't color treated my hair in well over a year because, quite frankly, I am tired of dry, frizzy hair. It is not a good look for anyone! I was excited to be contacted by Kacey of Taya Beauty to try their Buriti Nut Intensive Repair collection. Anything that promises to moisturize my dry locks and is natural seems like a win-win to me!

Now for some background info on Taya Beauty: all Taya products are formulated without sulfates, parabens, animal products, and animal testing. All ingredients used in these products are indigenous rainforest botanical ingredients, and are sourced through environmentally sustainable programs, which also means that all ingredients are toxin-free. Basically, these products are good for your hair and don't have any questionable chemicals that could potentially damage your hair. There are several collections featured on Taya's website: the Buriti Nut Intensive Repair Collection, the Copaiba Resin Volumizing Collection, the Amazon White Clay Thickening Collection, the Kinwa Grain Collection, the Acerola Cherry Collection, the Moisture Madness Collection, and the Murumuru Collection.

Besides myself, I had my mom try these products to see how she liked them. My mom straightens her hair on a daily basis, and colors her hair at least once a month. If anyone needs intensive repair, it's my mom! She tried all of the products as well, and we compared notes to help decide whether or not we could recommend these products to friends (which includes you, my readers!) and family. If you don't feel like reading a lengthy review and want me to cut straight to the chase, here it is: We totally recommend Taya Beauty products.

The first products I tried were the Buriti Nut Intensive Repair Shampoo & Conditioner. Both contain Buriti Nuts, Brazil Nuts, and Raw Parsley Extract. Using both the shampoo and conditioner has left my hair feeling soft and moisturized. I have noticed that my scalp is a lot less flaky, and my hair is a lot less frizzy. The smell of these products is pleasant and herb-y. My mom's only complaint about this collection was how it left her hair smelling like parsley, which is probably her least favorite smell. I don't mind the smell, though, and I don't think it's overpowering at all.

The Buriti Nut Intensive Repair Mask is a "deep treating mask formulated with Buriti Nut Oil, Brazil Nut Oil and extracts of Raw Parsley to help restore strength, elasticity, softness and silkiness to dry, damaged, color-treated, frizzed, lifeless, dull, over-processed, chemically-treated hair". You can let the mask soak into your hair anywhere from 20 minutes to overnight. I left it in my hair for about 45 minutes before washing it out in the shower. I did notice my hair to be slightly softer- and it definitely helped with my dry scalp, but I think if I had left it in for longer, I would have seen better results. My mom left it in her hair for a couple of hours before washing it out, and was raving about how great her hair felt. If you have really damaged hair, I would recommend leaving the mask in your hair for a couple of hours or even overnight for major results.

The Buriti Nut Intensive Repair Oil is "highly concentrated serum fortified with pure Buriti Nut oil, Brazil Nut oil and extracts of raw parsley, and designed to polish, protect, smooth and add brilliant shine to all hair types". I would add a few drops into my palms and then rub it between my hands and add some of this oil after I was finished styling my hair to tame my fly-away hairs.

The Buriti Nut Intensive Repair Dry Oil Treatment Spray is a "lightweight concentrated dry serum in a spray form, fortified with pure Buriti Nut oil, Brazil Nut oil and extracts of raw parsley, and designed to polish, protect, smooth and add brilliant shine to all hair types". You would use this just like you would use the repair oil, but I think this spray is a bit easier to use. I use this as a finishing spray. Sometimes, some of my curls look dry and dull, but then I spray some of this on it for some shine. If I have any fly-aways, I spray the dry oil treatment lightly onto the fly-aways to smoot them down.

The Buriti Nut Intensive Repair Leave-In Mist is a "super reconstructive, light-weight leave-in mist formulated with Buriti Nut Oil, Brazil Nut Oil and extracts of Raw Parsley to help restore strength, elasticity, softness and silkiness to all hair types, but especially dry, damaged, color-treated, frizzed, lifeless, dull, over-processed and chemically-treated hair". After washing my hair, I would spray this into my hair before styling. I didn't feel like this did anything for my hair except water it down a bit, but maybe those of you with less fussy hair might find this to be your miracle product. I don't really see myself using this product much.

Overall, the Taya Buriti Nut Intensive Repair collection is a total hit. I really like how each product is formulated with good-for-you ingredients and is sustainable sourced. And quick tip- if you sign up for Taya's newsletter, you will get a free sample of their Amazon White Clay thickening creme, their bestselling product! Have you tried anything from Taya Beauty before? I'd love to hear some other reviews!
