Congratulations, my fellow 2014 graduates! Graduation is coming around, and if you're like me, the first thing you start planning is your makeup for the big occasion. I don't want to look too overdone for graduation, but I want something naturally glamorous. This look is perfect for graduations, weddings... Any special occasion, really. I even applied some false lashes to really take the look to the next level. Curious as to how to achieve this look? Then read on!

1. After applying your base and whatnot, apply your eyeshadow primer. I really love the Urban Decay Primer Potion.
2. Fill in your brows! You can't have ratchet brows on a heavily-photographed day- sahrrrry!
3. Using the Urban Decay Naked Palette, take Sin (a light, shimmery champagne color) and apply over the lid.
4. Taking a fluffy brush, blend Naked (a medium-toned brown) into the crease.

5. Taking a fluffy pencil brush, apply Toasted (a shimmery pinky-brown) in a sideways-V shape to deepen the crease.
6. Blend out well with a clean, fluffy brush.
7. Using the same fluffy pencil brush as before, use Hustle (a dark, plum/brown) in a sideways-V shape to deepen the crease further.
8. Blend out well with a clean, fluffy brush.
9. Using Buck (a darker mid-tone brown) as a transitioning color, apply with a fluffy brush over the crease and blend towards your browbone.
10. Using the fluffy pencil brush from before, take Hustle onto the lower lashline.
11. Apply Virgin (a pale, shimmery beige) onto the inner corners of the eyes. This will help make you look more awake during the ceremony.
12. Use Virgin right under the browbone to really pull together the eye look.

13. Using Creep (a shimmery black) on a stiff pencil brush, smudge on the lashline. This color will serve as your eyeliner. Or you can use whatever eyeliner you want!
14. Apply mascara. I'm using the Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara.
15. Apply false lashes! This step is obviously optional. I'm using a pair of half-lashes that I got from The Makeup Show (it's a no-name brand). Ardell has some great ones!
16. Use a black eyeliner to cover up the lash glue.

17. Moving onto the cheeks, apply the blush of your choice. You will want to use more blush than usual so that it can show up in photographs!
18. Using a fan brush, I'm applying a contour (I use this matte bronzer by Bobbi Brown). Completely optional, but since I have a round face, I want my face to look more defined in pictures.
19. Using a fan brush again, apply your highlight color. If you're oily, you may choose to skip this step.
20. Apply your lip color. Since I'm going for a more natural look, I'm keeping my lip color neutral. You may choose to go bold here, though! I'm using a limited edition lip color here, but any nude lip color would work!
21. It may seem like I'm doing things backwards, but I use a lip liner that is the same color as my lipstick to define the shape of my lips. I like doing it like this, and I can't really explain why.
22. Mist a setting spray to set your makeup so it doesn't budge during commencement. I loooove this one by Urban Decay!

And voila! That is it. It may seem like a lot of steps, but it really isn't hard to execute, I swear! This look will look great in photographs, and the false lashes will help make your eyes stand out in photos as well. I default to this look a lot when I'm going to a wedding or other special occasion, so don't feel limited to wear this look just for your graduation! This is a multi-purpose kind of look, and I feel like Sasha Fierce when I wear it (what would a Brikasia post be without a subtle Beyonce reference? Answer: NOTHING.).

  1. Which lash glue do you use? I can't ever seem to get falsies to stay on!

    1. I use to the Duo adhesive (waterproof formula)! It's like $8 at Sephora, I believe!
