A Recap Post: Where Have I Been?

A Recap Post: Where Have I Been?

posted on: 5.13.2014

Over the course of the past couple of weeks, I have basically been MIA (although I have managed to be consistent with my Weekend Wrap Up posts), and I kind of wanted to explain to you guys where I've been, along with sharing some of my favorite moments from the past couple of weeks. I'll be keeping this post as short as I can, while also keeping it "so fresh and so clean" as great rap philosophers Outkast once said.

My absence basically boils down to one thing: my college graduation. Cue the "ooooh's" and the "aaaah's". By now, this is such a boring excuse, but c'moooon. Once I graduated college, my motivation to do anything plummeted into the ground. So... that probably didn't help my cause. Also, once I graduated, I embarked on two trips in a row: I went to the Big Guava Music Festival in Tampa, Florida, and then this past weekend I spent in the Florida Keys.

I feel like at this point, you all know how cray cray I get about music, and know that I love music festivals. Good music rarely comes to Florida, so needless to say, I was absolutely ecstatic when the Big Guava Music Festival in Tampa promised to bring some of my favorite acts into town, such as Haim, Walk the Moon, Vampire Weekend, Outkast, Grouplove, and so much more. It was such a great weekend that I was able to spend with some of my closest friends, that it should come as no surprise that updating my social media was the last thing on my mind. Crazy fangirl Brianna came out to play this weekend, and it truly was a highlight of m'life.

Then this past weekend, I drove down to the Florida Keys, which is a maaaad boring 6 hour drive, with some of my closest friends from high school. It was very short, but very fun, and we were able to explore Key West for a little bit, feed tarpon fish in Islamorada, and take the canoes out for a ride at our rental house. Because I am actually a 50-year-old woman inside of a 21-year-old's body, I was in bed by 9pm on both nights, because clearly, I know how to hang.

At its core, Brikasia is still a personal blog, so I hope you all don't mind me sharing these little adventures with you. I'm not getting into more details about my trips because ~hello~ that is probably super boring to you. Before I finally accept that it's time to enter the real world and time to get a full-time job, just know that I am going to pour my heart and soul into my creative endeavors such as this blog, and that I truly appreciate all the support Brikasia has been getting the past three years. For realzies, ya'll! Anyway, thanks for sticking around! I'll be back to beauty content on Friday. Have a great day!
