All that being said, here are some things I noticed about California:
- The weather is insanely perfect in the summer. I kept hearing people complaining about the heat (it was in the low 80s), and I wanted to slap each and every one of them. In the mornings I was freezing my bum off and had to wear a sweater, and even at the hottest part of the day, I was fine. There was no humidity! My hair didn't know what to do with itself.
- Wearing a romper to Disneyland is always a terrible idea. Seriously, no one really talks about how annoying it is to use the bathroom when wearing a romper. It was like a fifteen minute process.
- I kind of feel like all the girls in California dress the same. Musical festival style is an everyday thing for these Cali girls, and how the hell are they all so skinny?!
- Oh, that's right. There's a freaking organic pressed juice bar on every street corner.
- "The Californians" sketch from SNL is incredibly accurate.
- The traffic is TERRIBLE. Like at any time of the day. Even 6 am.
- Lip gloss is very popular based on my observations of women in Santa Monica and Anaheim. The glossier and stickier, the better.
- Everyone has a perma-tan, and I couldn't be more jealous.
- The smog and haze in Los Angeles is ridiculous. You could only faintly see the mountains in the distance, if at all.
- The food in Disneyland is SO much fresher than the food in Disney World. And the prices are lower! HOW?!
- In N Out lives up to the hype. Everything animal style, all day every day. NOM.
- World of Color at California Adventure is everything. Except don't let them tell you that the "priority seating" area is the best area to view the show because 1) you're way too close, 2) you will get wet, and 3) your eyebrow hairs might get singed off from the flames.
- Also, Lance Bass has blue hair, and I literally bumped into him at the Santa Monica pier on accident. Fun times!
Any other things you've noticed about California or the West Coast in general? And, if you had to choose: West Coast or East Coast? Los Angeles or New York? Let the great debate begin!
I went to Santa Monica last month! I also noticed that everyone is just so beautiful and I look like a tater tot in comparison! It's so nice and relaxed there though. You could just feel the stress free vibes from everyone which was nice, yet also weird, haha. I'm used to everyone being anxious and having somewhere to be or something to do. Wish I could have gone to Disney Land though! It don't matter to me wether it's land or world, if it's Disney, I'm there! Looks like you had a fun trip :)

Hahaha yes to the "tater tot" comparison!! Disneyland was amazing, although I wish I could have spent more time in the LA area!
DeleteI would love to visit California one day, I think I'd be one of those people complaining about the heat, but it looks beautiful <3
