It's summertime, which means bronzed beauties are in abundance. If you're like me, you become more of a "lobster-hued beauty" in the summer, which is definitely no bueno for the skin. So, instead of trying your hardest to get that Beyonce-esque glow by worshiping the sun in your off-time, STOP! There's a lil' thing called "makeup" and it can do wonders to achieving that gorgeous glow you yearn for. And as a little bonus, I show you how to transition this "surf goddess" look into the night time, with minimal products needed! Full tutorial is after the jump.

  1.  Start off by contouring your face. Of course, this step is completely optional, but I have a round face and wanted to make my cheekbones more defined. I'm using a matte, brown bronzer for this.
  2. Next, apply your bronzer! Apply this where the sun would hit you naturally: tops of the cheekbones, across the nose, around the temples, top of the browbones. I used a more orange-based shimmery bronzer for this.
  3. Apply a shimmery, champagne shade of eyeshadow all over the lid and blending into the crease.
  4. Taking the shimmery bronzer from step 2, apply the bronzer into the crease of your eye.
  5. Add a coat of waterproof mascara.
  6. Apply a nude lip gloss, or just leave your lips bare.
This is a great summer day look, and is so easy to do! If you're ready to take this look up to the next level for the evening, it's even easier!

  1. Start off with the makeup from the Surf Goddess Day tutorial. Touch up face makeup if necessary.
  2. Apply a bright red-orange lipstick. My favorite of the moment is this one by Milani.
  3. Define your brows.
  4. Apply more mascara. You can also add eyeliner here if you want!
And that's it! This is a really versatile look and it is incredibly easy to take it from day to night. I personally would wear the "night" look during the day, but that's just because I have an addiction to bright lipstick. ;) What's your favorite surf-inspired makeup look to sport during the summer?
