As we start transitioning into fall, you may notice some beauty looks emerging that had been hiding from the dog days of summer. One of my favorite trends? Dramatic smoky eyes, of course! My eyes have always been my favorite part of my face to play up, which is probably why it took me 19 years to actually start wearing lipstick on the regular. Now that I’m pretty much addicted to it, though, I must wear it even when I’m doing an extra sultry eye look!
- Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick in Stormy Sahara (From the Buffs Collection)
This lipstick shade leans dusty-rose with a moisturizing formula that retains a bit of translucency. It has warm undertones and is one of my your-lips-but-better shades.
- NYC Expert Last Lipstick in Smooch
Smooch is a very light pink that can look nude/neutral on lighter skin tones. It’s definitely the most colorful shade on this list, but is subtle enough to compliment your smokey eye.
- Jordana Lipstick in Natural Touch
This cheap thrill is one of my favorite neutrals to reach for! Another one that has a pink flush to it, Natural Touch is a rosy mauve that will add color to the lips without overpowering your face.
- Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Juicy Peach
This tinted lip balm packs super moisture for the lips with a very sheer peach shade that contains shimmer. The shade is not bright at all, and really just helps to slightly brighten up the lip (and add sparkle!).
- Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle
If you haven’t jumped on the lip butter train, what are you waiting for? These are sooooo moisturizing with decent pigmentation. Pink Truffle is a sheer mauve color that would work as a nude lip for darker complexions.
