THE EDIT: Strobing

strobing, highlighting, illuminating, strobing beauty trend, 2015 beauty trends, how to strobe makeup, what is strobing highlighting
As you've probably heard by now, the latest beauty craze to sweep the nation is a little something called "strobing". Spoiler alert, guys, but that's just a fancy word for "highlighting". Strobing is highlighting! That's it. There is literally nothing special or spectacular about strobing. It is highlighting without using a contour to deepen shadows. You are just trying to highlight the planes of your face so that it has a more youthful and ethereal appearance. If you have oily skin or acne, I would probably stay away from strobing/highlighting, though. The shimmer will only accentuate acne further, or make you look even greasier. With those exceptions aside, strobing is fair game for everyone else, and is a great way to look positively radiant this summer.

And PS- here's a guide on where to strobe and how to do it.

What are your thoughts on strobing? Will you do it, or are you like me and hate the name strobing and therefore will rebel against the very concept of it? Haha!

  1. Muahaha I think I'm just super immature but strobing sounds dirty lol. I highlight my face without contouring all the time. I find that contouring can be a bit much for day to day. Full on contour and highlight is reserved for night time and special occasions only.

  2. I heart strobing. I think I'e been doing it for a while now, simply by super-liberal use of highlighter. Can't get enough!
